You know I love Matt(es) more than his more striking friends that glitters and all.
Here's my attempt at describing the shade *not too difficult actually, they're all mattes*:
Matt Hung is a very bruise-like purple with quite a sheer pigmentation, my least favourite shade
Matt Lombardi is a neutral yellowish flesh color that is probably only one shade more yellow than my skintone, good as a neutral wash of color over the lid.
Matt Abdul is an interesting greyish taupe with a purplish tinge to it. My favourite brow color, mixed with a teeny bit of Matt Wood
Matt Singh is a weird peachy shade with grey tinge that made my eyes look sleepy. Second least favourite color.
Matt Wood is a very dark, almost black, cool brown. My favourite shade, perfect for filling in brows and as a tightliner.
Matt Rosen is a very chocolatey-brown shade that's very yellowish and probably a shade lighter than Wood
Matt Malloy is a bone-white color. There's no other descriptive word for it. Good for subtle highlighting, but I rarely used it. Surprisingly non-chalky!
Matt Garcia is a dark brown like Rosen, but leans more to a red/plum-ish undertone. I don't really mind this color, really.
Matt Johnson is a dark grey-blue with the heaviest pigmentation of all, no joke.
As stated by the name, they're all flat matte shadows. I love a nice glowy eye look, but for defining the the crease and to add depth I prefer mattes. Plus they look super natural. The shades are a variety of mostly neutral colors, but you get some fun with the blue and purple. Quality is supreme, never have I experienced such smooth and pigmented matte shadows. Absolutely no fallouts, although some shades like the purple applies abit unevenly. Nothing that a brush and the right technique couldn't fix though.
Compared to the old palette, this Matt(e) is huge! It came with a good-sized mirror, in which you can see your whole face clearly. For comparison, this palette's height is twice than Naked's width, and width is one and half times Naked's width. You get the idea. If you have been reading my blog, you'll notice that I've been lusting over UD Naked Basics palette since it was newly launched, but Matt(e) made me forget about it. I'm now even wondering why I ever wanted it in the first place? Matt(e) gave me all I ever wanted
